1. Warranty periods
Warranty periods run from the date of delivery, not the date of order.
- New airframes, flight controllers, ESCs, motors and gimbals: 24 months against manufacturing defects.
- Intelligent batteries: 12 months or 300 charge cycles, whichever occurs first.
- Payloads, sensors and accessories: 12 months, or the manufacturer's published period if longer.
- Repaired components: 90 days or the balance of the original warranty, whichever is longer.
2. What is covered
Manufacturing and material defects under normal use, firmware defects that cause a documented malfunction, dead-on-arrival units, and failures that occurred within the published operating envelope (temperature, wind, payload and voltage limits).
3. What is excluded
Warranty does not cover damage caused by the following:
- Crash, collision, deliberate misuse, operation outside published limits or flying with damaged propellers.
- Water ingress from crash recovery or flying in rain, except on IP-rated platforms used within spec.
- Corrosion from chemical exposure, agricultural spray residue or coastal salt where cleaning schedules were not followed.
- Third-party repairs, unauthorised firmware, aftermarket parts or non-genuine batteries.
- Normal wear items: propellers, nozzles, filters, pump seals, landing gear rubbers, cases and cables.
- Consequential loss, crop loss, loss of profit, downtime costs or third-party liability.
4. How to claim
Log a claim through the Help Center or email sales@triodrones.co.za with your order number, aircraft serial number, flight logs and photographs or video of the fault. We respond within one business day, arrange collection and complete diagnosis within two business days of receipt.
Warranty repairs are carried out through the manufacturer's authorised South African service channels using genuine parts. We log and manage the claim on your behalf.
5. Out-of-warranty and accidental damage
Out-of-warranty repairs are quoted in writing before any work begins; you may decline and have the unit returned, subject to a R350 assessment and return courier fee. Accidental damage is repaired by quotation.
Data recovery from damaged flight controllers, water-damaged camera assemblies and burnt power systems is assessed on a case-by-case basis and never guaranteed.
6. Spares and maintenance
Genuine replacement batteries, propellers and accessories can be ordered through us. Follow the manufacturer's maintenance guidance in the DJI Fly or Insta360 app, and check propellers and batteries before every flight.
